Rare Air Tennis Celebrity Coaches

The Steamboat Tennis & Pickleball Complex is excited to announce an incredible lineup of celebrity guest coaches for this summer’s Rare Air Tennis Camps, bringing nationally recognized experience, elite player development, and high-level coaching to the mountains of Steamboat Springs.

Leading this year’s featured coaching lineup is Rhona Kaczmarczyk, a world-class tennis professional whose career spans decades of elite coaching and competition. A Colorado Tennis Hall of Fame inductee, former Irish No. 1 player, and USTA National Coach selection, Rhona brings an unmatched background in player development, sports performance, and competitive excellence. Her coaching experience includes collegiate tennis at TCU, international competition representing both Ireland and the United States, and decades of leadership at Greenwood Athletic Club.

Joining the Rare Air coaching staff is Tommy Koszowski, currently an assistant coach for the University of Denver men’s tennis program. Tommy has built a strong reputation throughout Colorado for player development, tournament programming, and high-performance coaching. A former top-ranked Colorado player with a UTR of 11.69, Tommy has won multiple major titles and brings experience from Denver Tennis Club, Cherry Creek Country Club, Lifetime Fitness, and his own coaching company, Hi-Def Tennis.

Also joining this summer’s coaching lineup is Phil Girardi, the 2024–2025 USTA Florida Section Delegate and past Florida Section President. Phil has dedicated over 20 years to volunteering with USTA Florida and is widely respected for his passion for growing the game of tennis at all levels. Currently serving as Director of Tennis at Treasure Bay and head coach for St. Petersburg College, Phil is certified through both the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) and the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA). His experience spans junior team tennis, collegiate programs, and player development, making him an exciting addition to the Rare Air coaching staff.

Players attending the Rare Air Adult Tennis Camp, July 3–5, and the Rare Air Junior Tennis Camp, July 6–10, will have the unique opportunity to learn from these exceptional coaches through advanced drills, match play, strategy sessions, and competitive training environments designed to elevate every player’s game.
