“Give, give, give – what is the point of having experience, knowledge or talent if I don’t give it away? Of having stories if I don’t tell them to others? Of having wealth if I don’t share it? I don’t intend to be cremated with any of it! It is in giving that I connect with others, with the world and with the divine.” – Isabel Allende

Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball is all about community

What does ‘community’ mean to us? It’s more than just lines on a map, outlining Routt County. It’s more than municipalities and zip codes. It’s the people who call Routt County home (whether they live here full or part time) that make up our wonderful community, and we are proud to service our community in so many ways:

Supporting our Seniors

The Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball Center provides year-round programming and activities that brings seniors together in a socially and physically healthy way. We are the largest provider of senior-friendly activities in Routt County.

Seniors enjoy the exercise and fun that our center provides, even if they have Parkinson’s!

Outreach Programs – mentoring our youth

Partners Mentoring Youth – Building resilient youth in Routt County by creating and supporting meaningful mentoring relationships. The Mentors from this great program can rent a tennis or pickleball court for free – made possible through a generous 50% discount (given to all non-profits) from the Center, and through a patron who strongly believes in this highly beneficial program.

PS, you don’t have to be good at tennis or pickleball to have a good time at the center! Check out these fun activities to do with your kids!

Steamboat Tennis Association – The STA is a primary source of funding for junior tennis in the Yampa Valley. Membership and sponsorship dollars fund grants and scholarships for junior players between the ages of 5 and 18 and provides funding for the boys and girls Steamboat Springs High School Tennis Teams. The STA supports Adaptive Tennis, In-School PE Tennis, Middle School Co-Ed Tennis and Team Steamboat (traveling tournament team). The STA acts as the main advocate for youth tennis in the Yampa Valley. Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball Center is the hub of all of these activities.

Boys and Girls Club – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Colorado’s mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Whether the children from the Boys and Girls Club come to us, or we go to them, Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball Pros have been leading fun tennis and pickleball-based games for these children for years.

“Beyond the Net”

“Beyond the Net” is a series of e-newsletter articles about how Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball has changed lives and added to the quality of life for people of all ages, abilities and socioeconomic levels.

Non-players of tennis and pickleball often have a difficult time understanding what all the rave is about. Those who haven’t enjoyed smacking a ball back and forth with friends and competitors or those not experiencing what a family affair these sports become, just don’t seem to ‘get it’.

Beyond the Net will highlight personal stories, achievements and testimonials that we hope will bring new understanding on why “Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball is such a big deal!”
