Thank you for all the emails, phone calls and in-person questions and concerns regarding our County’s escalation to Level 3.
We have contacted City and County representatives for guidance. We are committed in doing our best to stay on top of all the latest recommendations. See the Capacity Restrictions Chart. At this moment, we are placing ourselves in the Event – Indoor Unseated category.
Our Play Safe Mitigation Plan has been working for the past six months. Our building has 45,000 sq. ft. of space. With our current policy of 50 people maximum in the building at a time, that is 900 sq. ft. per person.
The square feet of each tennis court including space outside the baseline and sidelines is 5,000 square feet. If we look at four pickleball courts per tennis court with a maximum of 16 people playing at once, that equals over 300 square feet per person (much more than the 6 ft. x 6 ft. = 36 square feet recommended as safe distancing.)
We have the space, so please do not congregate!
Follow the posted mitigation rules and let’s do our best to Play Safe! We know that having a game of tennis or pickleball with some friends is helping us all keep our sanity. Do your part and we will do ours.
For those of you who don’t feel comfortable coming to the Center, we will not hold players to the 12- hour cancellation policy and we will issue credits for any missed activities that have been pre-paid. These types of requests must be emailed to Loretta@SteamboatTennisandPickleball.com.
If things get worse, if we are advised to do anything differently, if there are changes in policy or if we must close, we will notify you as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Loretta and Bill Conway
